SAINT-GILLES - Again tensions rose in the prison of Saint-Gilles.
Guards called in extra reinforcements of the police to repress the
ongoing rebellions in the prison. Guards are striking since a month
every Monday and Friday to protest against insecurity created,
according to them, by the surpopulation in the prison (the actual
number of prisoners is almost the double of the official capacity).
Police will now station permanently in the prison.
