Marche - Bommen op de werf van denieuwe gevangenis

MARCHE-EN-FAMENNE - Five artisanal bombs have been discovered on the construction site of the new prison, by the company Valens-Duchêne. The bombs were equipped with a retarding system and incendiairy bottles. 

Around 7 'o clock in the morning, a worker discovered a suspicious object went he climbed into his crane.

"One of the workers noticed something abnormal when he climbed into his crane to start working. He discovered the artisanal bomb high up in the crown of his crane, under his cabin. Those who placed them dare, climbed up, probably during the night. One has to be very motivated and very organised," says a worker of the construction site. "We have not been threatened before this discovery. But if the mechanisms exploded, this could have provoked damage and destroyed the cabins of the cranes. Imagine if they were working. We found four other bombs. Two of the bombs exploded. We restarted to work, but the surveillance measures have been reinforced and every worker has to watch out before using material."

An act of sabotage

"Installed close to the electronical box, these bombs were placed to destroy material and to sabotage, not to hurt persons," explained the Prosecutor Elisabeth Dessoy, who went to the construction site in the afternoon. "Visiting the premises, we discovered no other elements. We made a security perimeter, we saw that there was no more danger. Now it is normal procedure. We called in the SEDEE of the army (Service for removal and destruction of explosives) who has to make up a report and evaluate the danger level of the explosives."

Another bomb discovered this morning

Again a bomb was discovered this morning at the construction site of Marche, high up a crane. Yesterday, five home made bombs were discovered in five of the six cranes of the construction site, just under the electricity box and the cabines of the cranes.

Brussel - Milquet onder vuur

BRUSSEL - De auto van minister van Binnenlandse Zaken Joëlle Milquet (CDH) is vrijdagnacht gestolen. Dat gebeurde in de buurt van haar woning in Brussel, meldt RTL zaterdag. Zaterdagnamiddag is het voertuig teruggevonden.
De daders drongen binnen in de woonst van de minister om de autosleutels te stelen, en gingen er vandoor met haar dienstwagen, een VW Touareg V6 Bluemotion, uitgerust met zwaailichten. De wagen stond geparkeerd in de straat waar Milquet woont.
Volgens RTL werd de wagen zaterdagnamiddag teruggevonden in de Tweekerkenstraat in Brussel, nabij de zetel van de CDH. De politie gaat na of de diefstal toeval is of een 'kwaadwillige boodschap'.
Autodieven in Brussel hebben het vaak gemunt op dergelijke type wagen. Er werden overigens al eerder gestolen wagens teruggevonden in de Tweekerkenstraat.

The project of a law repressing extremist groups, promoted by the Minister of Interior Milquet, is not only targeting islamist groups.

Anarchist terrorism
Belgian intelligence services look further than islamist groups. They have problems with right-wing groups like Blood & Honor, but also with at least two anarchist websites which active "small attacks" - limited but often -  against the Belgian State and its presupposed economical partners.

Targets? All companies who provide services to the prison administration and the detention centres for illegal persons. Dexia, Bpost, Besix, Sodexo have been targeted. Last violence dates from 9 june in Leopoldsburg, where three vehicles of Bpost have been burned. One of the anarchist sites specifies that Bpost managed the bank accounts of the "prisons and closed centers."



In October 2009, this same radical movement destroyed the offices of Besix in Saint-Denis-Westrem (Ghent) because this company constructed then the new detention center in Steenokkerzeel. Attacks against baillifs, attack against the metro station of Horta in Brussels and the explosion of a grenade in front of the city counsel in Brussels are to be attributed to the anarchist movement. 

but amidst intelligence services, there's no unamity to forbid these groups.

Mons - Spoorverkeer verstoord

MONS - In the afternoon, a cable was cut on the outskirts of the train station of Mons. For more than an hour, no train trafic was possibile.

The station of Mons is being renovated by the architect Santiago Calatrava, reconstruction which should be finished for 2015.

The cause of the cutted cable is not yet known. Police is investigating if it was an accident or intended vandalism.

Brussel - Een sport als geen ander

EVERE - In de Franz Guillaumelaan werd in de nacht van zondag op maandag een Mercedes in brand gestoken. De wagen brandde volledig uit en ook een Ford ernaast brandde volledig uit. Van de daders ontbreekt elk spoor.

Mons - Veel geluk!

MONS - A person who was being transported by policemen from the Court to the prison, managed to escape. He was handcuffed but ran free and has not yet been arrested. A helicopter and police dogs were used to track him, in vain.

Laarne - Vuur verwoest vleesindustrie

LAARNE - Een brand heeft gisterennacht Bonimex Belgium bvba in de Leeweg compleet in de as gelegd. Bij het ter perse gaan waren de brandweerkorpsen van Wetteren en Aalst nog aan het nablussen. Een parketexpert komt deze ochtend ter plaatse om de oorzaak van de brand te achterhalen.

Het was rond 1.40 uur dat de Wetterse brandweer een oproep deed voor een industriële brand bij Bonimex op het Laarnse industrieterrein. ‘Toen we kort nadien ter plaatse kwamen, sloegen de vlammen al door het dak', zegt brandweercommandant Dirk Auman. ‘We zagen meteen de ernst van de situatie: de gebouwen lagen volgepakt met varkens- en rundsvlees en stonden vol koelcellen. Om de naburige gebouwen te vrijwaren, werd met succes een waterbuffer opgetrokken. De brand sloeg niet over. We sloegen alarm in de hele brandweerzone zodat ook troepen van Ninove, Geraardsbergen, Aalst, Denderleeuw, Lede en Wichelen ter plaatse kwamen. In totaal kwamen zo'n zestig brandweerlui ter plekke.'

De brand ging gepaard met een enorme rookontwikkeling. Het intussen geïnstalleerde coördinatieteam kondigde het gemeentelijk rampenplan af rond 2 uur. Alle inwoners van Laarne werd gevraagd ramen en deuren dicht te houden. De bewoners van een drietal huizen in de buurt werden geëvacueerd naar de Wetterse kazerne en later naar een rusthuis. Nadat metingen van de brandweer en Civiele Bescherming aantoonden dat de rookwolk niet giftig was, werd het rampenplan rond 8 uur afgeblazen.
Na enkele uren blussen had de brandweer de grootste vlammenzee onder controle, maar daarmee was de kous lang niet af. ‘Het nablussen zal nog uren, zoniet nog een hele nacht duren', aldus Dirk Auman. ‘Het vlees en het vet van dat vlees is zeer brandbaar. Rond 15 uur is de Civiele Bescherming aangerukt met een kraan en een Manitou om het dak van het gebouw te trekken. Op die manier zal het vuur sneller intomen: met het dak erop zou het nog dagen bluswerk vergen. Door het lange nablussen zal de brandexpert van het parket pas morgenochtend de site kunnen inspecteren. Naar de oorzaak van de brand blijft het voorlopig gissen.

‘Bonimex is een vleesverwerkend bedrijf dat karkassen versnijdt, verpakt en invriest. Het gros van hun productie is bestemd voor export. Het bedrijf bestaat sinds 1989, maar werd twee jaar terug na een faillissement overgenomen door een investeerder uit Hamburg. Het gebouw dat in de vlammen opging werd gehuurd. ‘De zaken gaan heel goed', zegt algemeen productiemanager Stefaan Poelman, die al van 's nachts op de site was. ‘De orders lopen vlot binnen, ons klantenbestand groeide gestaag. We waren in opbouw en die groei wordt nu geremd. Maar we gaan door en kijken vanaf morgen uit naar een nieuwe locatie. De brand van vandaag: dat is niet te vatten. Toen ze me belden, dacht ik aan een klein brandje, maar toen ik de boel hier in lichterlaaie zag staan... Ik wist meteen hoe laat het was. Er lag tussen de 40 en 60 ton vlees in de gebouwen. Verlies? Dat is moeilijk in te schatten. Onze veertig werknemers werden meteen op de hoogte gebracht van dit drama. Ze zijn nu onvermijdelijk voor een poos werkloos, maar we zullen er alles aan doen om die onzekere periode zo kort mogelijk te houden.'

Brugge - Rellen in de bak / Tournai - Ontsnappingspoging

BRUGES – In the afternoon, about 30 prisoners refused to return to their cells after the walk. They started to destroy windows and fences and lit a small fire. The prison guards called in reinforcements from the police and the special intervention unit of the Federal Police. Prisoners resisted and fights erupted when police entered the prison. Around 22h in the evening, calm was restored.

The prisoners had several clear demands like more sport activities, more television channels (euh) and less waiting time for the visitors.

TOURNAI - A week ago, a prisoner pretended having a bomb, took a guard hostage. Police eventually managed to arrest him once outside of the prison. The guards went on strike for one day, the prisoner, who already escaped once, was transferred to the isolation module in Bruges.

Leopoldsburg - Vuur voor de collaborateurs van de gevangenis

LEOPOLDSBURG – Around 4 ‘o clock in the morning, three vehicles belonging to Bpost have been destroyed by fire. The scientific police came to investigate, arson is not excluded.

Saint-Remy - Poging tot brandstichting tegen schoolgebouw

Saint-Remy – Saturday morning, garbage containers behind the school of Saint-Remy were burning. Firemen intervened and prevented that the fire spread to the buildings.

Jabbeke - Naar de bron van het probleem

JABBEKE - Zaterdagmorgen rond kwart voor acht brak er brand uit in een elektriciteitscabine naast Mercatorpress, een commerciële drukkerij die bijvoorbeeld het reclamedrukwerk van grote winkelketens als Delhaize, Colruyt en Carrefour drukt. Het bedrijf werd daarop ontruimd en de brandweer moest ter plaatse komen. Ook de mensen van Infrax kwamen ter plaatse om de elektriciteit af te sluiten. Een technisch defect was vermoedelijk de oorzaak van de brand. Grote schade was het gevolg. Gezien de elektriciteitscabine dient om een specifieke drukpers te bedienen, zal deze bijgevolg voor een week buiten gebruik zijn.

Leuven - Anti-politiek

Tamines - Jongeman verdronken in vluchtpoging

TAMINES – A young man of 25 years old tried to escape a police control on Sunday morning. He fell in the river Sambre and drowned.

“Police of Sambreville proceeded to an identity control because neighbours complained about his attitude. But he didn’t have official identity documents. When police tried to control his bag, he ran away towards the Sambre and fell in the river.” says the judiciary authorities of Namur.

The body of the victim was retrieved only later. His bag didn’t contain anything but normal documents, like a bus ticket.
