TAMINES – A young man of 25 years old tried to escape a police control
on Sunday morning. He fell in the river Sambre and drowned.
“Police
of Sambreville proceeded to an identity control because neighbours
complained about his attitude. But he didn’t have official identity
documents. When police tried to control his bag, he ran away towards the
Sambre and fell in the river.” says the judiciary authorities of Namur.
The body of the victim was retrieved only later. His bag didn’t contain anything but normal documents, like a bus ticket.
